Digital BW, The Print

Just finished a run of about 50 sheets of 11x17 308g photorag and now 
my 1280 refuses to feed paper of any sort. It just keeps trying to 
feed and then times out with "error to printer" message. I've got a 
support behind the last sheet of paper, and I've tried to print with 
and without the feed support. Any suggestions? Any way to get 
more "grip" on the paper. Thanks

Barry,

I too have often had such problems when using thick papers like PR 
308 gsm, and BC Satine 300 gsm. The coating seem to slip, and the 
feed mechanism does not get enough traction.  I jsut turn the printer 
off for a while, and then feed epson photogloss (not the premium one) 
through the system. Tacky papers such as HP gloss also works well.

That's the draw back to all of the fine art papers on desktop 
printers... They are "dusty" and gunk up the feed mechanism and print 
heads if you don't do a little maintanence as you go...a few extra 
nozzle checks and cleaning cycles and occasionally run alternate 
paper through...the old epson list had some other tricks for cleaning 
paper feeds if you really get into a jam (list is dead but still 
searchable).
