Since switching to OSX and photoshop 7, I can only scan using the Nikon scan software, rather than scanning directly into Photoshop as I used to. This is slower and a pain! Is there inexpensive software I could use until NIkon comes out with the download for osx? Many thanks- Lynne Siler http://www.lynnesiler.com

Once you get the hang of it you might not want to go back to Nikon software. http://www.hamrick.com/vsm.html

In my experience with my Nikon 8000 scanner, I find Vuescan for OSX to be slower and more buggy than Coolscan for OSX. Personally, I don't find working from the application to be any more difficult than working from a plugin and with OSX it is actually an advantage to scan with a stand alone application because you can be scanning in the background (with Coolscan or Vuescan) while editing another file using Photoshop.
