Getting inside a 3000

I just received a used 3000 which was shipped (contrary to the Epson instructions and the hard to miss blue label on the ink compartment door) with the ink cartridges left in place. The yellow cartridge leaked quite a bit of ink. I've cleaned up the exterior no problem and the carriage/transport/paper tray were unaffected, but I'd like to get into the compartment at the right rear of the unit where the heads rest to clean it out as that seems to be where the leaked ink had pooled. Does anyone here know the trick to removing the top cover to gain access to the insides? I'm pretty sure that there are at least 4 hidden tabs that hold the top cover in place but I can't figure out how to release them. Thanks, Keith J Keith Schreiber www.jkschreiber.com jkschreiber@...
