I enlarged a whole portfolio in Brightcube semi-matte paper ,VM Inks, sprayed with Krylon 1305. It gave beautiful results. Then, after presenting it,the albm stayed closed for about 45 days. Today I opened it,and to my surprise, the following happened: 1.Prints got posterized in the shadows, which they were NOT before. 2.Some of the bronzing came back, now with a yellowish cast... Any ideas why that can be??? Andr\ufffd

Andre, I had that problem with BC seni mat right off the bat. Not after 45 days. No matter which curve I used I got the same, bronzing and posterizing, no yellow cast. I have a whole box here that I can't use Vinny http://www.wulfsden.com --- In DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@y..., André Vallejo <avs@p...> wrote: > I enlarged a whole portfolio in Brightcube semi-matte paper ,VM Inks, sprayed > with Krylon 1305. You have to spray it...just like any other e-surface paper to get rid of the bronzing. I have prints that are about 6 months old...and I don't see any other these problems. Perhaps your spray coat wasn't thick enough. Robert

Robert, I sprayed it with 1305 Krylon, and they didn't disappear. They were there before and after spraying Vinny --- In DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@y..., Robert Morrison <rmorrison@p...> wrote: > You have to spray it...just like any other e-surface paper to get rid of the > bronzing. > > I have prints that are about 6 months old...and I don't see any other these > problems. How many coats of Krylon? I use 4. Sounds like you have either 1) a profile problem, 2) bad inks or 3) a major inkjet drop out if you are getting posterization. Is the same printer doing fine with other papers? I use the Epson Premium Glossy profile with the piezo driver. Its not perfect...but I could edit to get great prints. I've used both MIS FS-N and Selenium Piezotone inks and gotten good results this way. The bronzing would completely go away after the 4 light coats of Krylon. Robert

Robert, I am using the MIS VM, I never tried the glossy profile, thinking it wouldn't be any good, but I will try it as I really like this paper. I have been using it with color ink and it seams fine that way. I will let you know tomorrow how it works out. The other papers EAM and Somerset enhanced work fine. Ah, that explains it...I have no idea whether there are VM curves that work with non-matte papers. Robert
