. So I am now using the Randall workflow and > get impressive results without microbanding, without posterization and the > highlights are dotless! > > Peter > I've a friend interested in an RGB workflow for a 1200 or a 1280 on a Mac. As I've only ever used 1160s and a PC is there a Tyler or Randall equivalent for, ideally the 1200 (which he already has) or a 1280?? Julian

Thanks C. I've also found something for the 1200 (workflow and inks) on the inksupply site - save him buying a new printer to start with. Julian: I just completed a draft RGB partitioned curve set for the 1270 (should also work for the 1280/1290) and FS-E inkset. I'll have Martin post it to the Files section in a day or two. If you are talking about the Woolf curve for FS-E hextone inkset, I think it will need to be significantly tweaked to work well on the 1200. I recently had an offlist exchange with a guy who was trying the Woolf curve on his 1200 and was having problems. I sent him my tweaked version (optimized for the 1270), which also did not work well. He finally wrote Woolf directly and got a curve specifically setup for the 1200. I'm trying to help a guy out in Argentina who has a 1200. Because of the economy problems a new 1280 with cis etc would cost more than we'd pay for a 7600 so I'm trying to find ways of allowing him access to BW technology without buying a new printer. OK. Contact Woolf directly about a curve optimized for the 1200 or have your friend download the generic Woolf hextone curve for the MIS FS-E inkset and tweak it himself. Note: The *regular* MIS FS hextone inkset will NOT work with the Epson driver. Could someone please help me out by sending me either Woolf's Email address, or send me his optimized curves for the 1200 (for windows) when using MIS's FSN-E inks on EAM? please send to: aronica@... Also, what media type do others use with his curves on the PC? On the MIS site, his workflow says to use Matte Paper, but this isn't available on the PC version of the Epson driver. Thanks, Mark --- In DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@y..., "Julian Thomas" <julianthomas@t...> wrote: > Thanks Jeff I'll past that on. > > Julian > ----- Original Message ----- > From: "Jeff Randall" <jrandall@c...> > To: <DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@y...> > Sent: Monday, September 30, 2002 7:06 PM > Subject: Re: [Digital BW] RGB workflow for 6 pot was Cone Announces New > Blacks > > > > OK.
