1160/Piezo driver/MIS ink

1160/Piezo driver/MIS ink

2002-10-01 by John Luke

I've been using the original piezo ink with the piezo driver for over
a year now. My ink is about out and before I commit to new ink and
plunk dowm some more hard earned
geenbacks, I wanted to get some group feedback. Based on the comments
I've seen here, I am not confident in the Cone marketed inks (sundance or
piezotones) anymore. MIS make an
equivalent quadtone ink set that they say will work with the piezo
driver as a replacement for the Cone(Sundance) ink. Has anybody tried
this? I'm at a critical point here and
am about to abandon the whole process because of all the
frustrations.

John,

I was exactly in the same position than you one mounth ago: a 1160
with the PiezographyBW plugin and the complete set of Piezo inks (the
older one): I was also on the edge to abandon disappointed by these
permanent clogging issues, banding and the global brownish/greenish
tones.

What I have done since: order a MIS FS Neutral inkset and use the
Jeff Randall's workflow. The prints are superbous, fully neutral and
without banding!

So forget Piezo and try MIS FS Neutral with the Epson driver!
