Blue eye calibrator.

2002-10-09 by aitor Peña Inclán

Hi,
I have purchase a Lacie 22" monitor and thre is a especial offer for the
blue eye calibrator if I buy it with th monitor. I wonder if is a good
option to buy it. Or is better another solution, like the spider with
optical or others.
Best
Aitor

Altor - I have an older LaCie 22', and wish that I had bought the Blue Eye.
I've had the Colorvision Spyder, which works fine, but my assistant has the
Blue Eye, and it is a better system. If you call or write them and ask them
to tell you the technical reasons why, I'm sure they will be glad to do so.

There is one fact that may be a problem with the Blue Eye system that may be
worth mentioning... it will not work with any other manufacturers
monitors...
I have a LaCie and an Apple monitor, so I had to buy the ColourVision
Spyder...

Thanks for the info,
I can buy the blue eye bundle with the monitor for 297 euros, or
a CRT only Spyder With Photocal for 179 euros. I doubt....

If you can get a decent print, I'd for for the BlueEye as you'll be able to=
 use the
hardware/software as a "smart monitor' whereby calibration is done using th=
e
internal electronics in the display. Works pretty well. I think it's a good=
 system.
I think the price charged normally for the BlueEye is a bit high (nearly $6=
00). If
you can get a good deal, your LaCie 22" is made specifically to deal with t=
he
BlueEye so you don't need to mess with setting the guns. black/white
adjustments manually.
