i am testing Picture Window Pro 3.1 with my epson2200 to print black & white prints. anyone with experience doing this? is there an "all black ink" option for the epson2200? will picture window pro 3.1 handle custom curves and all that stuff? i'm trying to avoid $700 photoshop 7.0!

Jeff Randall has written curves for Picture Windows for printing with a b&w quad inkset. http://www.inksupply.com/html/mis_fs_1160_pc_randall_e_workflow.pdf You can find a lot info on Picture Windows Pro at Norman Koren's site: http://www.normankoren.com You can also query the-always-helpfull Jonathan Sachs, the developper of PW at www.dl-c.com. There is a forum dedicated to PW on his website. However, to answer your question directly: Picture Windows Pro plus black inks only printing with the Epson 2200. Yes it can be, its only a matter of time until someone publishes the workflow you need. Hope this helps, Andre --- In DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@y..., "yonci2000" <bcottman@w...> wrote: > i am testing Picture Window Pro 3.1 with my epson2200 to print black

Picture Window Pro 3.1 can read PhotoShop .acv and .amp curve files (thanks to Jonathan Sachs who added the feature within hours of the first user's request), therefore the many workflows written for BW printing with quad/hextone inksets and the Epson driver can be implemented through PWP. (see the MIS website Quad workflow page at www.inksupply.com ) The 2200 cart chip has not yet been commercially reverse engineered so empty carts and CIS/CFS solutions are not available for folks to experiment with 3rd-party inksets which are also being developed. They are in the pipline and coming soon. IMO, you will loose nothing, and in my opinion gain a lot by using PWP. Also note that PWP 3.5 will soon enter beta testing.
