ready to buy a printer

I've finally decided to get off my duff and buy a printer. I've been waiting to see how the 2200 evolved. What I've decided is an Epson 1280 staring off with VMS hextone inks. After I get up on the learning curve, then such things as different drivers, inks or RIPs can be added. I see too much uncertainty currently with the 2200. In a few years this will probably all settle or maybe the "2300" will be out with things Epson has learned incorporated . Does this make sense or is there something else I need to factor in? Of course as soon as I buy, the 1280 will be discontinued with no support and Epson will deliver a new spiffy driver for the 2200 for the UC color inks! Truman
