Re: Attention Studio Portrait Photographers - Update

To update my post of 09- 07 re: partly switching to digital: <We did a test with a B&W neg outputted to a LighJet and were disappointed, no deep black and overall an RC print feel to it.> Realizing they did this print blind I gave them a fiberbase print of the same neg to attempt to match (btw, I picked on purpose a very difficult negative http://www.studiocharis.com/PagesHTML/Black&WhiteHTML/09_6197.html <http://www.studiocharis.com/PagesHTML/Black&WhiteHTML/09_6197.html> ) . And the great news (to me) is that A&I was able to match that print with stunning accuracy. Blacks are very deep and the tonal range simply remarkable. This would finally allow me the freedom to offer unlimited retouching for my B&W portrait clients and still retain the quality I want, even in very large prints. I should get my 7000 quad inks test print done in two weeks. This photographer's life is getting interesting all over again/ Benoît http://studiocharis.com Ps Martin thanks for the your kind words on the website...
