Basically, place the folded paper towel under the heads dry. (Dry because you can then see if the ink and residue are being forced out.) Use a syringe over the "nipple" in the "well" the carts seat on. You can use a small piece of tubing or, some syringes will fit directly over the "nipple." OF COURSE USE A SYRINGE WITH NO NEEDLE. I use the syringe that came with my Piezo kit. Inject the Windex being sure that some of it is going into the head, not the "well" the carts sit in. You will experience a great deal of resistance but some of the fluid will pass through the head onto the paper towel. Though I haven't personally heard of anyone damaging heads this way, repeated cleaning of this nature are bound to do some damage, so beware. The printer that I've used this procedure on several times (1160) is printing well with perfect nozzle checks. I am working on an optimal cleaning solution which I will be making available to the list soon. In the meantime, if anyone wants to be a guinea pig and try some, let me know off list. Rick Colson
