1290/1280 too much ink on PGPP.

Off topic in this list but nevertheless: I'm not that familiar with the Epson consumer models so I have to ask the following: A friend uses a 1290 (European 1280) with the normal Epson dye carts. With the normal Epson driver settings for PGPP and ICM control on there's too much ink in the dark greys. Even at 1440 slow printing. puddling etc happens. Custom profiles can't get rid of that either. The best way to deal with it so far was by using the Photo Glossy Film setting instead of PGPP. Is that something that occurs with more 1290/1280's ? The HWM paper settings are alright, even at high speed. Ernst
