Densitometers

2002-11-10 by rlsopher

E-bay has a bewildering variety of reflection densitometers. The
three groups that seem most available and useful are the x-rite 310-
320, 810-811 and Eseco R60-R75. Prices seem relatively close when of
similar condition and equipment. The information available on the
manufacturers' web sites is pretty terse.

Which would you suggest (or perhaps others...) for measuring ink
densities on various papers?

Thanks,

Roger

Several of us have X-rite 810's and 811's. They are workhorses and very
reliable machines.

Does anyone on this list have experience with the X-Rite 418. would
this be a good choice for doing profiles.

I have seen the Eye-One mentioned, what other densitometers are people
using and what kind or type works best?

Thanks,

Cort

Cort,

I use the X-RiteColor Digital Swatchbook.

If there is a profiling procedure & software that works well with these inks
and requires a specific densitometer/spectrophotometer, that would influence
my decision.
