In response to Jim Hayes: Once I heard "about" the issue I queried Andrew
Rodney as he'd have more resources (influence) towards a greater
explanation. He got the "official" response and was kind enough to share it
with me.

Thank you for clearing that up. I called Colorbyte back, this time I
didn't get Eileena but another person on the phone who contradicted
what I was told by Eileena yesterday!

So the latest info which I was told was verified by the "owner" of
Colorbyte (according to the gal I talked to, didn't get her name) is
that Win98 DOES have issues and more than just with Sandy's machine.
And thus they are about to drop support for Win98. As another
surprise, I was told that using the LPT port on the 2200 with IP5 is
NOT possible- it was not designed to work.??? I'm still puzzling over
the veracity of this statement.

This is in direct opposition as to what I was told yesterday. I can
only now assume that the latest info is the most accurate, and both
you and Sandy are apparently confirming it.

I find it very odd that the verbal current should switch like this so
fast at Colorbyte. Be that as it may, I would like to thank both you
and Sandy for getting it straight so I can now choose to upgrade to
Win2000 or not before getting IP5.

I agree- this is most confusing. You would think my info is "first
hand", as I got it direct from Colorbyte, yet the story changed.<sigh>
