Tom,

Are you saying that the MSDF lists dyes as a component of the matte black?

Are there any dyes listed in the Photo Black MSDF?

I want to be clear whether or not you meant actual "dyes" when you wrote
it, not just meant "dyes/pigments" as a catchall phrase written phrase
(I realize you didn't say "dyes/pigments" - but want to be sure that is
not what you are implying)...

If dyes are a component, your careful, obviously knowledgeable, and
skilled reading of the MSDF would represent the first hard evidence that
the color isn't all 100% pigment.

Anyone else? Although I began college headed for a career in Chem or
BioChem, I'm NOT a chemist, accordingly some other people on this list
reading the MSDFs would probably do a much better job of picking up on
any dyes listed than I would,
Keith

The MSDS sheet lists the following general categories with percentages for
each:

- Carbon Black
- Proprietary dyes and pigments
- Proprietary organic materials
- Glycerols
- Water

So, it doesn't explicitly say there are dyes in there, but it doesn't
necessarily rule it out either!
