Split Tone effect with Paul Roark MIS VM inkset?

Split Tone effect with Paul Roark MIS VM inkset?

2003-01-03 by Forrest MacCormack

Hello,

I just converted my Epson 1280 with a continuos flow system with the MIS
variable mix (VM) inkset. I've been using Paul Roark's curves and I've had
great success. Thanks Paul!! I would like to make a split tone effect
print (example: cool blacks and shadows with warm yellowish highlights)

1. Does anyone have curves I could download for doing something like this?
I've snooped around a bit but haven't found anything.

2. I want to purchase another 1280. Anyone had horror stories with a
factory refurbished Epson 1280? Places to avoid purchasing factory
refurbished printers? Places you would recommend?

3. Anyone know if Epson will continue the $100 rebate on the 1280 this year?
Or will the lower the price? The rebate expired 12/31/02.

Best regards,

Hi,

There's some good news as far as the $100 rebate: go to Amazon and on
the Epson 1280 product page click on the 'Mail-In Rebates' link. Note
that the rebate applies to product purchased between 7/17/2002 and
4/30/2003.

I'm waiting on my 1280 from Staples on which I also plan to use MIS VM
inks and Paul's curves.

Linda
