Gimp-print

Gimp-print

2003-01-05 by Von Thomas <vt@vonthomas.com>

I have a Epson 2200 connected to my Mac via firewire, will gimp-print support
a firewire printer?

I'd also like to know what benefit will I get from using Gimp-Print, and what
version is stable. My Mac is use 10.2.3

Thanks,

Von Thomas

No. It's actually not gimp-print that is the problem, but CUPS, which is
the system that actually sends the data to the printer.

One of the main benefits may be to be able to run a printer for which Epson
does not have an OS X driver.

Look through the archives for this list as to what folks like Tyler Boley
and Bruce Kinch have been doing with gimp-print in relation to B&W printing.

See http://gimp-print.sourceforge.net for info about versions (basically,
4.2.4 is the stable version, but 4.2.5-pre1 seems to work just fine).
