You don't need to

Is there a problem switching to the

No

Should I run a cleaning

Just put the VM inks in, you don't need to begin with epsons inks.

Mike

I started in January with the Epson 1280 and the Piezography CIS with
Selenium toned inks. WOW! "Touch Wood" the only problem I had encountered
was loading the Photorag 308 into the printer. Others on this list appear
to have print head clogging issues using VM ink sets - but I have not seen
anything from the Piezography users on these issues with the 1280.

I started with EAM / EEM which was not bad, but a little uninspiring, then
following the dialogues from this group I splashed out on some Photorag 308
from inkjetmall and haven't looked back since! Sumptuous blacks, excellent
contrast and using the plug in fantastic shadow detail.

I also use a second 1280 for colour prints using the standard Epson carts.

Good Luck

Richard

Subject: Just starting out

I am becoming a convert. I am planning to move from a
traditional to digital darkroom. My computer is a mac. Any
suggestions on what system for B&W printing is best? I will also
be buying a new printer (or used) dedicated to B&W. Thanks for
the help.
