Epson 820 and MIS Inks

I've experimented with Quadtones on my Epson 890 (using Lyson inkset) and am excited enough to want to have a dedicated B&W printer. But it didn't look like anyone supported the newer low-end Epson printers. However, I just discovered that Mediastreet has empty compatible cartridges for the Epson 820 (which is under US$100). I'm thinking about filling the empties with the bulk MIS Hextone inks. Has anyone tried this? Is there some big flaw in this plan?
