Re: New generation archival storage materials

Re: New generation archival storage materials

I haven't noticed any reference yet on this list to mats & print-storage boxes
made from "MicroChamber" materials. Since these are spoken of as making
obsolete the familiar "buffered acid-free" variety of these products, you might
want to check out www.superiorarchivalmats.com . In additon to product descriptions,
pricing, and a set of FAQs, this site contains an article by Michael Smith (known
for his 'AZO-developed-in-Amidol-gives-best-possible-B&W-prints' claim; see
www.michaelandpaula.com) that has Smith's interview with Bill Hollinger, who
is not only the inventor of "MicroChamber" materials, but also the original developer
of buffered acid-free materials. I remember Hollinger Corp being the only archival
products place on the block 30+ yrs ago.
