Inkjetgoodies refillable carts, MIS & 1280...

is anyone here using or has used that combo? I've been using
Piezotone Seleniums (prefilled carts), but they are SO expensive
(they are wonderful, however).

I have some of my same images, thanks to a friend, using the MIS
Full Spectrum Neutrals printed on an 1160. When my friends compare
the two (MIS & 1160 vs Piezotone & 1280), they prefer the MIS
(Enhanced Gen. Black). My question is, has anyone here used the
Inkjetgoodies refillable carts for Epson and the MIS inks? I'd like
to hear your thoughts. I can't go CIS right now, can't afford it.
I'm using the Inkjetgoodies refillables for Canon s900 and love it.

Thanks for any responses.

Treadwinkle,

I use virgin cartridges to fill FS (and other) inks for my 1280 all
the time. I buy the T009 and T007 carts from MIS because they sell
them without the chip for ~ $5 less than InkjetGoodies with the
chip. I reuse the chips by using one of those resetting gizmos.
Vacuum filling is not difficult, but it will take a couple of tries
to get the method down pat. Make sure you get at least six sets of
septums ($10 each at MIS), so you don't have to clean/dry them
between filling each chamber.

Good luck.

Shilesh

The MIS CFS system for a 1280 is only $137 and that's complete
including the chip resetter. I have one for my 1280 and recommend
them. I know you said a CFS wasn't within your budget, but that's not
a lot more than the carts. You might want to see if you could scrape
up another $70.

I should have said "vacuum fill kit" which contains a septum. On MIS
site go to accesories, and you will find the kit (VVF-KIT) there.
You will also need one vacuum pump (CFS-VP.

Just so you know, over the long haul a CFS or CIS unit is cheaper on
ink and time. The reason I choose to fill my own carts is because I
am alays experimenting with different inks.

Good luck.
