Digital BW, The Print

I would love to see a marriage between Qimage and GIMP-print of
some sorts. Could one or the other be ported to the respective
OSses: Windows XP or Unix ?  There has been a rumour on the
Colorsync list that Epson may add linearisation to its normal
drivers and even ink limit control but I fear that that will take
more time.

After some struggle I finaly got Qimage working on a Windows
version and I have to admit that I like it more than my expensive
Wasatch SoftRIP on all aspects but inklimit and linearisation
control. It depends on the Epson driver for that. With GIMP-print
part of that can be resolved, GIMP-print's lack of ICM
compatibility is no problem as Qimage does that part. That will
be lost in a port of Qimage to Unix so the other way around would
be nicer.
