[Digital BW] MIS VM Curves for the 1280 and PC
2001-09-22 by Paul Roark
There may be some confusion about the latest 1280 PC curves for the MIS VM inkset. The curves with the prefix "vmp8" are for the VM inkset with a PC and the 1280 printer. However, new settings need to be used. They are different from the Mac settings and different from what was being used initially with the PC and 1280. We've gone to Photo Paper media type to be able to utilize the top 2880 resolution. The settings are as follows: Photoshop general color settings (Edit, Color Settings) should be Photoshop 5 defaults, which include sRGB. Epson driver dialog box settings: (Only the critical ones for the VM1 inkset are noted. If in parentheses, they may be grayed-out or are optional.) Media Type: Photo Paper Ink: Color Print Quality: 720, 1440, or 2880 Halftoning: Error Diffusion Color Management: Color Controls checked Mode Automatic Sliders - Leave at 0 to start The Magenta slider controls the toner. Use for fine-tuning only. More "magenta" = cooler print; Less "magenta" = warmer print. (Do not use sliders with "warm" curve.) Source Space Document: sRGB Print Space: Same as Source Media Gamma - 1.8 The general workflow is the same as the other 6-ink printers. Paul http://www.PaulRoark.com
