Digital BW, The Print

Just got an HP 618. I've got 7 days to keep it or return. Comments?

Depends upon what your end goals are.

I am rather doubtful that the 2.11 Megapixel capability 
(1600x1200pixels) of the HP 618 will give you the ability to do 
anything larger than a 4x5 or 5x7 B&W print. At 8x10 a file this size 
would leave you with only 160ppi which would generally be considered 
to be pretty far below the desired 360ppi. Some people feel that 
200ppi is fine but that is usually in larger prints that are viewed 
from a greater distance.

If the smaller print size is you intent, I would take a look at what 
is available from say Canon and Sony in 2 megapixel cameras. I would 
imagine there are some real deals.
