I've noticed that Inkjetgoodies is listing the new Arches papers, at only a slightly more ridiculous price than Hannemuhle papers. Has anyone had a chance to test them yet? Steve Karafyllakis http://www.stevekphoto.com

Steve, I am expecting my order of Infinity to be delivered tomorrow. I will let the group know of my impressions, particularly comparing the smooth paper to PhotoRag. Regards. That's great Shilesh, I look forward to your report. BTW I very much enjoyed the print exchange, though I feel a bit guilty about not finding the time to give some feedback. I'll try to do so before it becomes irrelevant, if it hasn't already Steve --- In DigitalBlackandWhiteThePrint@yahoogroups.com, "Shilesh Jani" <shilesh.jani@s...> wrote: > Steve, > > I am expecting my order of Infinity to be delivered tomorrow. Steve, It is never too late. If you are inclined to, please do post your comments. Even simple "thumbs-up", "thumbs-down" would suffice. I know most partcipants take comments in the spirit of honest critique. I am about to post my comments, and I was curious about your print. What film was used? How was the film scanned? Regards. Has SK> anyone had a chance to test them yet? SK> Steve Karafyllakis I received a sample pack a couple of weeks ago and gave a few sheets a try on my 1160 with MIS FS-N inks using Randall curves. The black was even darker and richer than PR and also seems a tad sharper in minute details (I tested both AI and PR side-by-side, same print, printed one after the other). It's really nice stuff. I only had a few sheets so will be experimenting more when a 25-pack arrives. I'll be profiling it to my 2200 as well as it's supposed to be quite nice with color too. Since it is giving me the darkest blacks I've seen so far with my 1160 using the MIS FS-N inks I'll be using it for sale prints and personal framed prints. The expense will keep me from making it my everyday paper however. Best regards, Richard mailto:richard@... L i n k s t o m y g a l l e r i e s: http://fujirangefinder.com/document.php?id=246

I've thought about trying out some Arches soon on my 1160 (MIS VM set with Roark curves). Ideally, I'd like proof with EEM and then print on Arches without having to waste much expensive paper in getting to the final print. Did you have to tweak your curves much to get a good print? I might when I get more sheets to work with. Best regards, Richard mailto:richard@... L i n k s t o m y g a l l e r i e s: http://fujirangefinder.com/document.php?id=246
