magneto-optical disks

2003-04-30 by digikdm

i have some images trapped on magneto-optical disks that were created
8 years ago on an Iomega magneto-optical disk drive. This drive is no
longer supported by Iomega, and the old software will not work on my
newer MAC or PC systems. Does anyone know of a service bureau that is
capable of reading magneto-optical disks and converting them to a
compact disk format. this is a good lesson... don't let the
technology get away from from you... you may end up with images that
no one can view.
thanks for any input.

A cheap way out would be to temporarily unplug your working hard drive, get a small hard disk, put on WIN98, your drivers and do the transfer yourself. An old 5 or 10 gig drive would be more than adequate and should be cheap as dirt.
