1270 printing heads plugged

1270 printing heads plugged

2003-05-02 by Ron Norman

I was offered a 1270 for $25 with the heads plugged up. I wasn't
really thinking of getting another printer but the price is right. I
figure its a 50/50 type thing if I can get them fireing again. These
are totaly plugged, notha. From what i've read its a good printer.
any comments as to the chances of it cleaning up, hasn't been
taken apart or any head cleaning attempts other than cleaning
cycles. Thanks for any imput.

Hello ron,

Depending how clogged the heads are determines which steps to take.
I bought an Epson 1280 from Ebay and when it arrived it would not
print at all. I had read somewhere about taking a piece of model
airplane gas line and attaching it to a syringe to inject a mixture
of windex and alcohol into the ink posts in the print head. I tried
that and it cleared up after several tries. A lot of what folks
called clogs are really air bubbles that make the print head lose
its prime. I hope this helps give you some ideas.
