Web design consideration

Web design consideration

2003-05-14 by Lyons Cox

Curious about those of you who have designed web pages.
Some folks have popup killers to keep 'ads' from popping up.
Does this get in the way of those web pages that pop up a new window when hitting a link.

A question from the naive, who has neither.

Cleavis:

I have not found there to be a problem. Most smart browsers and
popup killing software is designed to look for scripts that are self
activating. If you create a web page that generates a popup from a
link you should not have a problem. You will have a problem if you
are generating links via a timed script etc. Be careful how you use
popup windows as they rank fairly low on usability tests.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
