That does not mean it is necessary. Some people take drugs; but that does
not mean that taking drugs is necessary.

Fine with me. The fewer people using film, the better my film results start
to look.

Except, of course, in the limiting case where you are the last person using
film. Then film might be hard to come by. That's why I keep telling my wife
that she needs to move some of the food out of our freezer so there will be
more room for film.

Well, 8x10 sheet film was supposed to be wiped out by smaller formats
decades ago. And yet I can still find it in any good photo store.

My freezer is entirely dedicated to film. No frozen food in there at
all--it might contaminate the film.

Bill Atkinson Ultrachrome profiles

Has anyone used the Bill Atkinson Ultrachrome B&W profiles for the 76/9600
that George deWolfe talks about in the current View Camera mag?

Yes, but that's because you're not (yet) the last person using it. I know
of at least one other person who still uses it. :-)

Exactly what I keep telling my wife! You wouldn't mind if I use you as a
reference would you?

Well, since we both know of at least one person using it, it would appear
that there are quite a few photographers out there shooting 8x10 sheet film.
The movie industry likes it, too (for front and back projection use).

I'm not married, so I don't know if that would help.

Actually, I've been using them on the 2200 (at least one of them) and
it's a lot better than the ones that come with the printer....

Hi Barbara,

So you find the profile works okay on the 2200? How would you describe what
it gives for B&W prints?

thanks

Tim,

I'm not using them for B & W. I have an 1160 with MIS FM inks for that.
