Exhibition of my photos using IJC in NY
2003-06-05 by nick90290
Hi Everyone With all the current postings about OPM/IJC right now, I thought I'd mention that opening today in Soho, New York, and running for 3 months until August 30, is an exhibition of my photos all printed using SOLELY OPM/IJC. If anyone is interested in seeing how good prints can look using the software and you're in New York over the next three months, please go check out the show. All the 20'x24' prints - 13 of them - are sepia-toned black and white images printed by Joe Berndt at Bowhaus, the main man behind the software. We used MIS Ultratones with VM Sepia on Hahnemuhle German Etching. The 12 smaller (12'x15') sepia-toned black and white prints in the show were printed by me on my 2200 using the OPM/IJC software with Epson Ultrachromes on the Hahnemuhle German Etching paper. The exhibition is especially satisfying for me because over the least few months I have seen photographic dealers and buyers drop their prejudice towards digital fine art prints once they saw my work and I expressed reluctance to have digital negs made to do silver gelatin prints of the photos. Of the 40-odd prints sold in the last three months, no-one has requested gelatin. So if you're interested and in NY at any point, the show is at : The June Bateman Gallery 560 Broadway #309 Soho, NY 10012 Tues-Sat 11am-6pm 212 925 9751. Nick Brandt ......
