Another Shameless Plug

Another Shameless Plug

2003-06-09 by dsmithhfx

My show is unlikely to have the interest that Paul Roark's does, and
it's ten hours (by air) from L.A., counting connections and waiting
around airports, BUT if anyone happens to be in the vicinity of
southern New Brunswick, Canada, please drop by...

I'm showing eight epson 1270 prints including two black & whites, on
HWM and Ilford Classic Pearl, from negs, chromes, and one dc (nikon
885) shot. (A gallery owner and two photographers were surprised when
I told them the prints are ink jet -- they assumed traditional
darkroom prints).

Also a number of works in other media (it's a two-person show, with
my wife Inez Caldwell).

Show particulars, dates, address @

DC snaps of the installed show @

Photos only (from original digital files used for printing) @

Nice work David. Congratulations and good luck with the show. Nice to see
the city support this effort, too.
As for Los Angeles... it's hardly the measuring stick for distances in North
America. : - )

What did you drive the 1270 with for the bw prints and what inks did you use
on these papers?

Thank you for the kind compliments. Yes it's great the city supports
this gallery, though it is perenially 'under the [budget] knife'. I'm
using the epson driver. One b+w (the harness racing sulky on the far
left) I printed @ 1440 black only, the other (guy in the window,
second from right) was printed greyscale in 6-colors. I'm using the
MIS 'standard' dye-based inks (from inksupply.com), which I find to
be virtually identical in appearance and performance with epson oem
inks for the 1270. Hate refilling those cartridges though.
