Antonis,

This remark hurts ;-) And it is not just on this list. About 3
years ago I had to make a choice for a RIP and there were two on
the list: the Ergosoft and Wasatch. The first was then unknown in
the USA anyway so I couldn't get a respons on the early Epson
lists dominated by Americans. I guess that I was the first to
mention Ergosoft. Robert was at that time busy with a RIP that
couldn't grow up and starting looking around for another one if
I'm recalling the past correctly. In the end I decided to get the
Wasatch SoftRip on recommendation of another European user. A bit
against my intuition. It is a good RIP but it doesn't have the
open support of Ergosoft and it is developing into a direction
I'm not interested in.

If it makes you feel any better, I was killing myself in third party color management
solutions at that time so you stayed way under my radar screen. I was involved with
everybody's RIP and just beginning to make the move into RIPs of our own. That,
along with the fact that I didn't contribute too much to the forums for fear of the
possible perception of contributing sales pitches as opposed to real information, kept
me away. My passion for what I do has made me (in)famous, for my rants have been
legendry. So I figured it's better to keep the drunk out of the bar than invite him in to
see if he can resist the drink;-)

I probably did you all a favor.

You know, we have a pretty aggressive competitive upgrade program with regard to
Wasatch as well as ImagePrint. You may want to give our latest version of the RIP a
try. Let me make it up to you...

Cheers,

Robert

Robert, I've also seen you on one of the lists tell someone not to buy your
product as it wouldn't suit them - any manufacturer who does that is worth
listening to IMO.

Will think about it but one RIP in my life should be enough I
guess :-)
I'm in Europe too, must fall outside your representation.
