Digital BW, The Print

Hi,

I am new to fine B&W printing and have recently purchased a used Epson 
3000 and the MIS variable quadtone inks. I am using a Mac with the 
Epson drivers and I cannot figure out how to get a *good* print. To 
this point all of my attempts show a bunch of dots - even to the naked 
eye. Under a loupe its horrendous.

Any tips on how to fix this?
