Digital BW, The Print

what software are you using? what resolution have you got the epson printing
at? the default is often not the highest resolution of the printer

Not mentioned also is the specific workflow being followed.  The MIS 
site has a workflow page with detailed instructions for specific 
printers and ink sets. If you ignore the details, you'll likely get 
garbage.

Too true - one of the annoying quirks with my 1160 was everytime I played
around with the driver settings the print speed went to 'fast' and 360dpi.

Thanks all for responses on and off list.

I think my big problem ended up being not enough flushing combined with 
the fact that the curves aren't quite as good in Mac (they were done in 
Windows). I am getting better prints now.
