Re-occurring nozzle problem

Re-occurring nozzle problem

2003-08-09 by wilfredm71047

I reciently swithced from the old original Piezo ink to the PT
Selenium. I did a flush with the original flush carts and plenty of
purge prints. I have had a problem since installing the ink. After
every print job, I have to do a nozzle cleaning. I can print one 21
stepwedge and then do a nozzle check and its bad. One cleaning cycle
clears it up, but after the next print it re-occures. The printer is
an Epson 3000 and has a brand new black nozzle head that was
installed just before the new inkset. The black nozzle seemes to
check bad more often than the others but still the other nozzles
check bad along with the black a lot of the time.
Thank you Wilfred.

Hello Wilfred,
I have Exactly the same problem:

I purchased a used E3000 with the original Piezo inkset.
It was wonderful - every nozzle test was perfect, 'airbrush'
like greytones and it never required cleanings in over two
months- of light use.
The inks ran out and I replaced them with the PTs. BadNews.

I also purged the nozzles with the original flush carts
and installed a PT inkset. My cyan position ink requires
one cleaning cycle prior to every print session ( different
nozzles each time ), and I see lots of microbanding.
Other inks show problems less frequently, but one cleaning
cycle results in a perfect nozzle test, but never perfect
printing...... These prints are fair, but surely
not of the outstanding quality I had with the Original Piezos.

I am pretty much planning to go back to Sundance Inks
when these carts run out.

Anyone have any suggestions ? This is not a not clogged head
problem, more like something related to an ink feed.

SO, for what its worth, I have the same problem, but
have not found a solution. I have printed 6 16x20s and
several smaller prints; the problem remains consistent..

Best,
Alex
