B&W Ink.

B&W Ink.

2003-08-18 by NiteFrog

Hello All,

I am going to convert my 1270 printer to a B&W only printer. Do you
think this printer will work good enough or should I upgrade it?

What is a good ink to use? MIS, Lyson, etc...

I have a 7600 printer but I use that for color mainly and wanted a
dedicated B & W printer.

Please advise.

Thanks,

Kev

Kev,

the 1270 will do fine. Either MIS inks (UT) or the Piezotones will do fine too. If
you choose dye based inks (lyson, or the hybrid blacks which are options
available with the piezotones) do so knowing that you trade off longevity for
dmax (and the use of glossy papers without bronzing with some inks).
You will have a harder time deciding on a driver, and whether to use a CIS or
not.... depends on your budget, operating system, and degree of experience,
among others.

Antonis
