New A2 Epson printer in a forseeable future?

Hello, I haven't had the time to follow all discussions on this list recently. I've been thinking of getting a second printer next to my 1160, however I hesitate going for a 1290 or a 2100 because what I hope for since quite a while is that Epson comes out with an updated successor for the Epson 3000. Are there any hints that Epson plans to come out with a state of the art intermediate printer between the consumer A3 printers and the very expensive 7000 series? Regards, Bernie
