Quadtone Rip 3000 Curve?

Quadtone Rip 3000 Curve?

2003-08-28 by flyfishingusa2002

Hi,
Has anyone attempted to make a curve for the 3000 using MIS FSN inks and would
like to share it? I am about to give up using the Piezography BW pluging if I can get a
curver. I am planning to generate my own when I have got some free time.....

Does the stock file "3000-fs" work for you? That's in the ExampleInks folder.

I'm still playing with the 1160-fs file for my Piezotone on PhotoRag - I'm manually
changing the data file. I'm making some progress - but still have hot highlights.

I am assuming that the included 3000 curve is for the standard color ink set,
something which I do not have. Changing carts on the 3000 uses a lot of ink, so I
want to stick to just one ink set. That well might end up being the MIS UT with Eboni
although currently I have FSN loaded in it.

The FS-N inkset should work well with a curve made for the FS inkset. They
are standard, PiezoBW-compatible densities.

The MIS UT inkset is a variable-tone inkset that uses very different curves.
It has a toner that must be appropriately distributed.

If you only need one tone, then a single-tone inkset like the FS-N is a good
way to go. Some critical viewers might see the dots of a variable-tone cool
toner in the highlights of a 3000. I used the vm-s (sepia to neutral)
inkset in a 3000 (with a PC) for a long time and really liked the results.
I was never aware of any sepia toner dots in the highlights.

Nope...The stock profile "3000-fs" is for the MIS's Full Spectrum Piezotone Clone inks.
