Ink blobs on print

The 1280 cartridge is refilled and set aside for a day or so for the gas to migrate to the top and out, then installed into the printer. There are usually some drops of ink that drip out after refilling. There are blobs of ink on the prints for a while after that. What can I do to eliminate the ink blobs on the prints. I have the paper setting set to + or 0 and there is no difference. Ink and paper costs too much to use trial and error for very long. Your friend in photography, Johnny Eades
