Hi,
I do hand coloring with my digital prints.
I've been using Epson matt paper and after its printed I spray it with a
matt finish poly before tinting with the oil paints. I've read about using
Marshall's inkjet paper without prepping it with the polyurethane first but
haven't tried it.

Kay,
Who makes the pastels?
The reason I use the pre-spray is the oils tend to soak into the paper.
Thanks,
Jake

Sennelier.... these are extremely high quality pastels, and they work
wonderful, without crumbling or smearing! they are fairly pricey, but you can get the
best deal on them at DickBlick.com

A while back Marshalls sent me some samples of their inkjet canvas
which is designed for hand coloring. It worked fine but sometimes I
found it to be a little too textured. That occasionally made it hard
blend the colors. I teach a workshop at the local community college on
hand coloring silver prints but I've increasingly been getting people
wanting more info on coloring inkjet prints. Hopefully I'll get some
time soon to experiment with some different papers to see what works. I
think I'll also take your suggestion, Jake, and try different sprays.
If anyone has any other suggestions of what works and what doesn't, my
students would appreciate it. Thanx.

-Alan
