Eboni black with Epson color inks

Eboni black with Epson color inks

2003-11-09 by Matt Betea

Hello,
I apologize if this is a dumb question, but would there be a downside
or any kind of side effects from using the Eboni ink with Epson's
color inks? Thanks for any help.

Matt,

I would not recommend using Eboni with dye color inks. Dyes have a negative
effect on Eboni. I don't think there would be any serious clogging, but
particles from the pads might stick on the head.

Hi Paul,
Thanks for the help. That was my concern about mixing inks, but
failed to put it into words. Didn't or doesn't MIS make a color
inkset with matte black for the 1280? I thought they did, but
something seems messed up with their site and there isn't really
anything on there now. Thanks again.

Matt,

I think the MIS GP Archival inkset is the one that might be appropriate.
It's the MIS 7600 pigs (UltraChrome clones and base of the UT inkset) but
with a lower viscosity for the 1280.
