MIS VM & R9

2003-11-09 by Terry

Does anyone have any experince using MIS VM inks with the R9 plugin?
How are your prints compared to using the inks with the curve
profiles? What papers do you fine work best? which ink set do you
find works best?

Thanks

Terry,

The R9 will not work at all with the MIS-VM inks. If you print using the two
you will get a weird print that is blue in the midtones since one of the
gray inks is replaced with the Cyan tinted toner ink.

Basically ink sets and software are designed specifically to work with each
other and are not interchangeable. The R9 plug-in will work with Sundance
inks, Piezotone inks and MIS Full Spectrum which gives you a total of about
9 different ink sets to choose from. Or you can use the VM with the RGB
separation curves or with a RIP that supports that ink set.

Thanks Martin.
Yes, I know I'm not supposed to individually give thanks on the
forum, but many times when I have asked, it was only you that
responded. Again, thank you.
