Digital BW, The Print

For some reason the Epson Status Monitor doesn't seem to work with my new
Win XP computer and the 1280.  I think I've downloaded the correct driver.
What am I missing here?

Mr. Roark,
Had the same problem when I got XP put on my computer. Was told that 
the XP drivers would be good enough. Wrong. Have you downloaded both 
drivers? Printer driver: v5.2bA and also Status Monitor3v1.0dES which 
has to be installed after the printer driver. After I did this, I had 
no problem. Good Luck!

XP is a royal pain in the butt. I bit the bullet and put 2000 on my 
machine that came with XP. XP makes some assumptions and takes actions 
based on that assumption. Trouble is the assumption is normally wrong 
and it is very difficult to bypass the XP defaults. After fighting XP, I 
decided that 2000 had the same functionality and a lot less aggravation.

Paul:  Had the same problem.  In addition to the driver, it is also 
necessary to download a new status monitor from Epson.  Chuck
