The guy (I can't remember his name) reached me by phone, and we had a 'postal' relationship. Perhaps if I *had* met him, I would not have gotten ripped off. But I do enjoy the sense of community I get form the internet groups even though I hardly ever meet any of the members. Even though actual face to face conversations are more efficient, and easier to 'read' than virtual ones, I wonder if meeting people would ruin it. ;- ) And on the commercial vs. personal work issue: I have found through long term life experience that it is almost as important to say 'No' to inappropriate commercial work as it is in personal work. I now *really* try to only do/go after, the commercial work that interests me...Consequently, I at age 52, I live the life of a student....But am enjoying my life much more than when I had more money.
