Digital BW, The Print

I recently started to use UT inks in an 870 with poor results using 1280
curves.  thnkas to Paul's suggestions, (thanks Paul) I downloaeded the
1280 driver from Epsons website and installed it.  The install worked
fairly well, but gave a bit of a problem when trying to recognize the
printer.  So, as it was trying to find the printer, I shut down teh
installation program.  Thne, I went into the Printer properties and found
the 1280 listed.  I selected the ports tab and scrolled down to find the
870 on a usb virtual port.  I just associated this port with  the 1280
driver and voila, it worked.  Now, when I got to print, I just select the
1280 and it prints on the 870.

The curves for teh 1280 are now working MUCH better, not the best I've
seen, but very workable.

This was done on windows 2000 using usb for printing
