Hi Jose Luis,

Thanks for such a detailed answer.
Will this profile work on a Mac? I don't use the PC for photoshop.

Yes, I am using epson materials.

Thanks again,

John in OKC.

PS: I was in your beautiful country a few years ago and enjoyed it very
much.

Hi John,

Hope you don't mind if I answer this... Yes, it will work on a Mac the same
way but you have to put the downloaded profiles into your Colorsync folder
in your system folder.

Then follow Jose Luis's flow... (without the 'properties' of course :-))

I'd also point out that the profiles you get from Ian Lyons site will be the
same profiles that came with your printer for the 12xx Epsons.

Use the paper specific Epson profiles rather than the standard. As Jose
says, the standard is terrible.

| First question. Where do I put these profiles if the folders above
| don't exist on my Win98 system. My choices are:
| Windows\system32\Adobe
| Windows\system32\DRIVERS
| Windows\system\COLOR
|
| Second question: Won't these "B&W" prints still suffer from tinting
| with the Epson color inks?
|
| Thanks, Hap

Maris,
Thanks for your reply. I did my own test and it looks like a random
tritone as usual.

I'm just listening and learning on this list as I don't yet print B&W.

All I could do was suggest where to put the profile - we'll both wait for
suggestions on the further tinting problem.
