Lots Of Clogs In My 1280 With UT Ink

I'm having serious clogging problems with my 1280 and UT ink which I've been refilling into empty cartridges. I've been refilling for a few months now and going back and forth from MIS GP color to UT. Now I'm seeing serious clogs and can't keep clear nozzles to save my life. There's no pattern to the clog as they appear all over the place. I just filled up some Media Street top fill carts with UT ink thinking it might be the MIS carts I was using (they seem to change manufacturers frequently) but the clogs are still there. There shouldn't be a problem switching between the two MIS pigment inks should there? I can put an Epson cart in and the clogs disappear on the first nozzle check but when I put a UT cart in the clogs are back. . The black cart is always clog free. Maybe it's my filling technique but I'm sure I'm doing it correctly. I make sure to fill very slowly avoiding bubbles. Maybe the Windex and paper towel trick? I just bought an MIS pre-filled UT cart so we'll see how that works. I really don't want to buy filled carts as they're almost as expensive as Piezography carts. I'm at my wits end here and am thinking of abandoning the hextones and going with BO for a while. Any other suggestions? Thanks, Tom
