How's about the current 1280? Works GREAT with MIS variable tone inks
and Paul Roark's curves. Also takes the Nomorecarts CIS system.

Wow, I've got a valuable collectible. This is twice what I paid for my 1160
refurb about a year ago.

At this price, the 1280 or a refurbed 1270 might be seriously considered. I
prefer the 4-ink 1160 because it's easier to experiment with inks when only
4 spots have to be filled. However, the modern 6-inkers are capable of
better image quality even with quads (though it is a minority of people who
see any difference). The 1280 looks to be the champ today for the ultra
picky.

For those interested in the MIS VM inkset, the curves for the 1280 are
reasonably well along (Mac version done, PC version getting very close to
done). The 1270 and 1200 curves are at the beginning of the process. So,
right now, the images they make would not please many people.
