Would everything that has been discussed in this thread regarding scanning
b+w negatives apply equally to scanning b+w prints?  I have been scanning in
color and converting to b+w in Photoshop.

Some of it. Of course a print is a positive, and the goal is to make the
scan look like the print. With a negative, you want the scan to look not
like the negative but like what the negative represents. But the issue of
different noise levels in different channels might still apply. Same with
trying to minimize colored stains.

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
