There was a post on the Piezo list yesterday, suggesting to run the 1290 with the 1280 driver downloaded from Epson.com. That doesn´t work for me on a Mac. Anybody out there with some experiences ?? Thanks. Bernd

Bernd, You are not alone. The Piezo 1280 driver doesn't quite work with the 1280 under Windows 2000 either. Only prints about 98% of the image. I posted to Bill Bergh and hopefully these are minor bugs that can be resolved quickly. There are also issues with this driver and the NoMoreCarts CIS with the chipped cartridges. Paul, Martin, as you know, on a Mac it seems to be impossible to use the 1290 with its original Epson Mac-driver for printing MIS VM Hexatone inks with Paul´s curves. It results in extrem posterisation. I tried the 1280 Mac-driver from Epson, but it didn´t run my 1290, same thing with the 1270 driver. Now there was this guy on the piezo list, who reported to run his 1290 with the 1280 driver. I suppose he should be on a PC. So I switched the machines (Mac-->PC) and downloaded the 1280 PC driver for WIN ME. During the install-procedure an error message showed up (Setup didn´t find the 1280 printer to be connected) - can be ignored, the Epson 1280 Win ME driver runs the 1290 printer though. First results with Paul´s neutral curve are much much better than wit the 1290 driver (seems the drivers differ substantly) BTW I didn´t download the print monitor for the 1280, what is recommended heavily by Epson... and surprise surprise: the driver doesn´t recognize that I´m printing with third party inks and CIS: no cartridge- or nk error message at all. Does this mean the chip is controlled by the print monitor and is ignored if the monitor isn´t installed ?????????????????????
